ABSTRACT

I would like in this brief presentation to focus mostly on a review of Matrix-Q Know How and its applications for global sustainable development, in particular for SDG and do reference to previous publications.

Along an  introduction and in details through the whole presentation, the need and value of Matrix-Q SDG Label will be discussed.

INTRODUCTION

The first year i did engage into collaboration with a field related to what is known today as SDG or sustainable development goal ( previously community development, social development, sustainable development or development project ) i did understand how far it was my academic understanding of the issues from the human experience of them. I am certain this is a common experience any one involved in sustainable development had at certain point in their work, the realization that despite efforts, knowledge and good intentions, some times results are not as planned, and investments, skills and knowledge, policies are not enough for what we aim to accomplish.

I think in general this is a challenge not only professionals in the sustainable development field of work experience, but as well artists, leaders, community builders, parents, entrepreneurs, military, educators, social managers and health practitioners, making just a brief list. Actually i consider that any human being that have tried to develop a project have faced the fact, if the process have been observed with enough honesty and in relation to several levels of impact the project has, that more could be done, or something could be done differently, which would have created a more advanced results, benefits or less co-lateral damage.

Rules for sustainable development collaboration change in time, as well as economy and funding availability may change, with the respective impact in the locations beneficiaries are being supported organizations develop their projects.

FUTURIST PERCEPTION OF SUSTAINABLE GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT

The tendency of the world, in business, corporate, as in sustainable development, private and public practices, is towards more responsibility, for the simple reason that previous generations have not perceived on time problems their solutions were about to create.

As i said, this statement applies to several fields of knowledge, which could be reviewed at the archives of science history, medicine, education, military, politics, arts, social management, technology and others.

Certainly it is necessary to advance our ability of prediction, but once we have noticed a missing link, a perception that is limited, a skill that is not available or know how missing, it is as well necessary to innovate or enhance our condition and become fit for the challenge.

IT IS THE SAME CHALLENGE, BUT WE ARE AIMING TO CHANGE OURSELVES WHILE SOLVING IT

It will not be a different challenge, it is the same challenge we face. But in reality, by implementing a new path, a new modality, how to solve the challenge, we actually change ourselves, advance our skills and capacity, to achieve our aims with better results, according to our policy.

I think collateral damage or indirect damage created through corporate and sustainable development is sad and could be avoided, but how to be effective in our leadership and strategic management, by holding work-life balance and positive impact at at least 9 dimensions or levels of influence any i project, business or leader, may have in their location or globally?

When a new company aims to engage into the design and delivery of positive and healthy services for their locations and customers, for example : “organic food” and becomes successful by bringing this products to the market but utilizes methods and practices for management, organization design, human capital management that are non sustainable, and eventually destructive, for example in extreme cases if the company number of burnout professionals increases every quartile, or if the gender discrimination issues is a core quality of their management, or if workers families are not nurtured with quality products, or if their business model is not nature inspired, or if their leaders are not capable to think wisely, systemic, sustainable or outside of the box… which is the feeling one has when understanding that organizations that do so much good for the world, are themselves not an example of what they sale ?

An advanced economy is not only matter of numbers, but of quality thinkers, entrepreneurs, innovators and developers, leaders, that make the choice of acting responsibly and becoming example of their own values, and knowledge, through the way they implement them or apply them in their own daily life and daily business.

Such of a challenge, for example in entrepreneurs ability to think and do outside of the box, to innovate; or to include all genders along a co-creative thinking, decision making and doing process; or to include local culture or multicultural participation in cosmopolitan cities and regions; or to prevent burnout with a good education on self-management and stress management skills.

ASSESSMENT, PREDICTION & QUANTIFICATION OF VALUE

One of the main benefits Matrix-Q Tools provide to its users, and a practice which means added value to organizations that implement it, is that of Matrix-Q Futurist Prediction, through Matrix-Q Assessment and for example Matrix-Q Quantification of value.

Once an organization have identified the value within itself that has not been perceived before, it would be more easy for its employees, leaders, customers and partners to give attention to it and enhance effectiveness by adding that value or asset to the business process.

If an organization itself enhances its design, or human capital skills, and its overall behavior, giving the signs of becoming a more intelligent organization, in terms of its ability for reaching a natural sustainable development oriented behavior, which cares for own life but also collaborates with the sustainability of the life of its natural ecosystem.

If we would be able to know, predict, that a project or strategy, campaign or action, for business, with commercial or no commercial value, for profit or not, would have a destructive impact in any level of the life or business of our customers or beneficiaries, or even in that one of our own employees or organizations; then we would try, in the time available to do an enhancement, the respective preventive adjustment.

QUANTIFICATION OF IMPACT

How many adjustments have been done already ? What did those adjustments mean in terms of investment, resources, time ?

If a sustainable development project aiming for improvement of the quality of living in the rainforest end up damaging the social structures, dynamics of a tribe, and the correction of the first project through a second project  means an investment of 3 times the first one, and 3 years process.

If women empowerment end up breaking their love relationships and families out of the idea that a change is necessary, but creating a social dysfunctional generation unable to refer to family and love relationship as stable and positive experienced to aim for, giving as result an increase of divorce and number of single parents, mostly women, in our modern culture ? for example in Europe, divorce rates can be found on 50% of marriages. How many marriages and families at development countries have been broken or damaged through gender equality projects ?

If a new education method and guidelines for teachers has been implemented 50 or even 20 years ago, and new advanced studies on education have demonstrated that the current methodologies should change. But the costs of adjustment are to high that the change would not be implemented fully for as long as another 20 years ?

If a company, corporation, declares that employees are the most important assets of their organization, but the rate of burnout, physical and psychological issues, result of lack of family-life-work balance, burnout prevention skills, overloaded design of a business process, or unhealthy working conditions, produce a loss of higher or equal to the wages paid to the employees ? or becomes a risk of equal potential level damage capable to bring the organization to bankrupcy ?

SDG2030

Previous publications have focused on suggesting risks, predicting developments, need of know how and suggesting enhancements necessary for SDG, after a first assessment done by utilizing Matrix-Q Tools has been completed.

SDG (3,4,5, 8,9,10,11,12, 16 and 17) have been focus of my recent publications. {REF: SDG Goals }

While with my last presentation on Matrix-Q Thinking applied for SDG has brought know how and tools that can be applied in all SDGs including SDG (1,2,6,7,13,14,15).

For example for example in fields like education, peace, collaboration and stakeholders, management, gender, life span, wealth generation, research and development, inequality, sustainable cities and communities, responsible production and consumption, and partnership for the goals; Matrix-Q Know How Applications can help adjust, enhance or improve the effectiveness of leaders and entrepreneurs, engaging into SDG.

SDG LEADERS, CONSULTANTS BUT BENEFICIARIES

If SDG leaders, activists and developers or projects with impact on SDG receive benefits from learning and applying Matrix-Q Know How and observing the user guidelines and indicators for an advanced practice of entrepreneurship and leadership, as well consultants, trainers and in general sustainable development professionals will receive benefit from acquisition of the same knowledge.

In field education or technology transfer to sustainable development organizations team and leaders, need to be included as well preventive education of beneficiaries. It is as important to have consultants and organizations collaborating with SDG achievement, as local communities, networks, families, and individuals informed on the standard of Sustainable Development they may prefer to implement, the skill, know how and methods they prefer an organization or individual supporter of their location or communities should have.

Informed beneficiaries may play a key role in prevention and protection, support of their own location.region development by engaging into right choices when choosing a sustainable development provider, for example.

PREVENTION MEANS INVESTMENT

Prevention is by all means not-expensive regarding the loss (financial) but as well the damage generated to a process, location, culture, individuals and their family. Some times a damage that can not be repaired in the future, if a policy change, technology or methods change.

For example:  in the field of burnout prevention in Europe, Billions of Euro loss in business process damage, replacement of employees, health insurance, recruiting and training, absentees, and decrease of   performance and effectiveness.

Education of youth, professionals that will take over leadership positions, without a precise and serious training, on knowledge and skills on work-life balance, would only risk them to harm themselves while working hard on a intensive and challenging  market.

A strategy well planed, even if costs 60% of the strategy or business process, would have more effective results than an strategy implemented without careful assessment of risks, weaknesses and opportunities.

An experiential gamified training program for modern leaders, would mean eventually weeks or months of investment, but necessary to ensure leaders to be capable to apply their knowledge acquired through academic studies, and skills, talents, to solve effectively challenges related to their business or projects.

LEGACY DESIGN: LEARNING FROM THE PAST

For any aim, which means to collaborate with sustainable development, long term planning, careful strategy design, process management, collaboration with stakeholders, investment,  is necessary.

Long term planning in terms of sustainable development means to consider at least 100 years of impact. Urgent solutions need to be implemented within 10 years, as for example SDG2030.

Our modern leadership has solved problems within the 40 years of the ability of a generation to hold themselves into leadership or power positions, which means 40 years aiming for short term reachable goals that help the perception of stakeholders be positive towards collaboration with leaders and effective for urgent term goals achievement.

For inter-generational goals achievement, only traditional cultural approach may work, which is for our modern culture rare to find in its pure form.

Ancient cultures and civilizations have faced similar challenges, when complexity increased and their civilizations did decay, as short term solution making was not enough. Challenges faced requested a more profound assessment and prediction, and management of the issues along at least 5 or 10 generations.  For example the decay of rome, the inca empire, the persian empire, the nordic clans, the egyptian kings, the spanish or french royal families, the germanic empire, and other cases.

Our modern culture will face no less than the challenges ancient cultures and civilizations have faced.

The first step necessary would be to acknowledge that some solutions will need to be carried out by several generations and no one leader but a “lineage” of them would have to be prepared and educated to  carry the responsibility to solve them. The information and perception of such of challenges seems not to be available, or modern challenges under innovation scope do not refer to the long term solutions that need to be implemented and the level of collective or inter-generational engagement that those mean.

Legacy is not only heritage, wealth, quality, progress, but as well challenges and ideally solutions that could be implemented in the future by well trained and educated professionals and networks of well designed organizations.

[ The Matrix-Q Legacy Project ] focus on sharing know how and skills with organizations and leaders, professionals, in several disciplines, aiming to solve issues for which only inter-generational collaboration would be effective.

The Matrix-Q SDG Label, and SDG Hub, the Matrix-Q Know How developed by the Matrix-Q Research Institute; the services and products (R&D Research & Development, innovation by the Matrix-Q Research Institute), the companies, start ups to be developed through application of Matrix-Q Know How, and the Matrix-Q Standard, Licenses, Certificates and Learning Programs, are the Matrix-Q Legacy, of the Stichting Luis Daniel Maldonado Fonken.

What is the Matrix-Q SDG Label ?

The Matrix-Q Label for SDG Projects provides information on how advanced is the ability of a city, organization, project, leadership and human capital to apply their know how and skills according to the PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship.

Indicators considered by the Matrix-Q Label for Sustainable Development include Matrix-Q Score lines (levels of impact or application capacity) designed by the Matrix-Q Research Institute www.matrix-q.com  R&D division of the non profit organization Stichting Luis Daniel Maldonado Fonken www.luisdanielmaldonadofonken.info  .

Articles and publications on SDG by the Matrix-Q Research Institute at the Matrix-Q Magazine.

The wish of the Matrix-Q Research Institute is that not only for profit organizations and professionals in strategic management and sustainable development aim to be holders of a Matrix-Q License, label and certificate, but as well that more organizations, cities, corporations, consultants, beneficiaries, and in general SDG stakeholders turn their attention to the Matrix-Q Know How and Label, and become aware of its value for global sustainable development, participate in the change by adding the Matrix-Q SDG Standard Certificate to their set of skills and knowledge, and provide more advanced services and support to their beneficiaries.

BACKGROUND. STORY

The  PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship has been developed by Luis Daniel Maldonado Fonken, since 1993, through scientific research, test trials, pilot programs, assessment and case study, design and implementation of algorithms, and experience of providing training, coaching and consultancy services.

The PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard has evolved since 1993, passing  through a series of stages of development with focus on a humanist approach for sustainable development and entrepreneurship, aiming for a leadership capable of effective strategic management which includes the design of business process with work-life balance and burnout prevention policy, for example. In the year 2000 the NSD (Natural Self Development) based consultancy tools, developed by the researcher will focus on human capital ability for self-development, when approached from an holistic perspective. In 2007 A systemic tool for the perception and management of phenomena will be integrated to the set of commercial tools, the (Elements Management) EM Tools, based on 81 encoded cyphers,  the EM Standard will be utilized. Along 2011-2012 Holistic Strategic Management principles will be added to the know how commercial platform. Later on between 2013 and 2015 the PT-Theta (Primordial Technology (Theta)) will be integrated to the commercial set of tools, with focus on primordial symbolic language, and stress on use of nature inspired thinking of ancient cultures and civilizations, as well as integration of gamification and skills (The 9 Primordial Arts, Prime Do and the Prime Do Codex for peace: Non violence as foundation for entrepreneurship, leadership, effectiveness, strategic management ad life-work balance).  Along 2016-2018 the most advanced versions of Matrix-Q Thinking, Matrix-Q Intelligence, Matrix-Q Skills tools utilized since 1993 will be integrated to the set of commercial tools and standard.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY KNOW HOW APPLICATIONS

Multidisciplinary applications of the Matrix-Q Know How  (in fields like: Education, Human Potential, Human Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, DNA Studies, Life-Span, Sustainable Global Development, Leadership, Self-Management, Performing Arts, Social Management, Holistic Strategic Management, Effectiveness, Neuroscience, Engineering, Mathematics, Navigation, Assessment, Cosmology, Earth Sciences, and other fields of application), make it necessary to develop a foundation set of principles and indicators for the use of the know how.

All in all the results of a Matrix-Q Assessment process, with reference to the PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard, provides a Matrix-Q overview on the qualifications, skills, and capacity a city, organization, project, team or individual has in relation to all Matrix-Q Fields of application or only few or one of them alone. As for example:

  • The Matrix-Q Know How Assessment Tools help its users perceive, study, predict the behavior or natural development of an organization, project, team, individual.
  • The Matrix-Q Skills, leadership and Strategic Management Tools, Matrix-Q Work-Life Balance, help organizations advance the business process and its effectiveness aiming to a sustainable development.

and additional score lines according to application field or challenges a project may intent to solve.

A candidate may as well ask for consultancy services, training and coaching, which will help them advance their level of performance, effectiveness, organizational intelligence, according to Matrix-Q Standard.

MATRIX-Q EXPERTISE LABELS

Matrix-Q Know How is of a multidisciplinary character. Matrix-Q Intelligence in principle signs the ability of solving challenges by approaching them from several perspectives simultaneously.  The main idea behind the Matrix-Q Label is to identify which organizations, projects, teams or team members are able to integrate as many levels of impact, skills and know how simultaneously and with a great deal of effectivity, measured according to the  PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship.

An alternative label certificate may be given to organizations that are dedicated to one particular field of expertise or focus. For example organizations dedicated mostly to education would like to be holders of a Matrix-Q Education Label, to start. A Matrix-Q Label certificate may include as well, for example, management of education programs and business model utilized for this purpose; or continues education program (gamified, experiential) provided to its employees, trainers and managers.

It is ideal an organization aims for a complete assessment of their skills, performance, levels of impact, which includes all fields of assessment within the PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship.

MATRIX-Q KNOW HOW FOR SDG DRIVEN ORGANIZATIONS

2030 Sustainable development goals by the united nations, are inspiring and empowering governments, cities,  organizations and professionals world wide to engage into sustainable global development.

PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard applied on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship, is dedicated to collaborate with SDG stakeholders achieve their aims by applying Matrix-Q Thinking, Matrix-Q Leadership, Skills and Matrix-Q Holistic Strategic Management principles.

The Matrix-Q Research Institute, between 2016 and 2018, has published several articles, presentations and digital books, with content useful and relevant for SDG Stakeholders, SDG Entrepreneurs and SDG Activists. As well a complete automated and gamified e-learning and e-collaboration platform has been set for SDG Entrepreneurs, with content that focus on Matrix-Q Tools for Holistic Strategic Management, and in principle a set of publications dedicated to SDG11, Sustainable Communities and Cities. ( The PTƟ SDG Hub Project )

SDG Stakeholders can advance the effectiveness of their leadership, organization and business process design (models), through the application of Matrix-Q Know How. For this purpose the PTƟ Matrix-Q Standard on Sustainable Development & Entrepreneurship, or Matrix-Q SDG Label, will serve the SDG Network as reference regarding the level of performance reached or skills available in an organization or project. The Matrix-Q Research Institute expects through this program, to provide support for SDG Stakeholders ( The PTƟ SDG Hub Project ) on the fields leadership, effectiveness and work-life balance, as well on Matrix-Q Management and capacity of application of know how and skills that are extremely important for achievement of the 17 sustainable development goals SDG2030 suggested by the united nations for the year 2030 as global focus.

In order to introduce SDG Network on Matrix-Q Tools and Standard, the Matrix-Q Research Institute have published articles, e-books in related fields of interest, as for example:

One of the first series of publications made available by the Matrix-Q Research Institute focus on Matrix-Q First Assessment of the SDG Goals, a first review of SDG Goals as defined by the United Nations,  through Matrix-Q Tools. The results of the assessment provide a first insight into incongruences, challenges, weaknesses and unbalances the process of implementation of SDG Projects in one single location developed by several stakeholders or SDG Project Generators, may produce.

Additional publications had the purpose to suggest how SDG Projects, its leadership, strategy and human capital can be enhanced through the application of Matrix-Q Know How, Matrix-Q Thinking and use of Matrix-Q Tools applied for SDG.

As well Matrix-Q Cocreativity assessment review on SDG has been published by the Matrix-Q Research Institute.  With focus on the difference between binary and nonary thinking, in the field of gender: gender balance, equality, inclusivity, cocreativity.

A classification of SDG Projects or SDG Types of Projects has been also suggested as for SDG Leadership awareness and enhancement of strategic management.

Also a tool for evaluation of SDG Projects from the perspective of learning process assessment, the Matrix-Q Education method, has been introduced through the respective publications.

CO-CREATING A GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Organizations, cities, sustainable development professionals, consultants and beneficiaries for which SDG is their main focus or for which SDG has been integrated into their policy, and skills, may prefer to be holders of the Matrix-Q SDG Label, and co-create with a common foundation, knowledge and skills, indicators and priorities.

For example, through the Multidisciplinary Research Pool of the Matrix-Q Research Institute, we aim to continue research and provide know how and methods, reports and support to SDG Stakeholders registered in The PTƟ SDG Hub Project. Thanks to the Matrix-Q SDG Label, SDG stakeholders will be able to benefit from the publications and reports of the Matrix-Q Research institute directly and effectively, as  the foundation knowledge, skills, principles and indicators, are familiar to them or already part of their business culture and organization.

The length of time necessary for the process of acquisition of knowledge, and development of skills (Matrix-Q Know How), for organizations and professionals involved in sustainable development will be reduced as more stakeholders are practicing and observing the Matrix-Q SDG Label guidelines and indicators (standard); as well as sharing their experiences aiming to advance their performance in the process of achieving SDGs.

By holding a Matrix-Q SDG Label, an organization or sustainable development professional ensure the development of the stake holders perception of their respective sustainable development policies, world wide, and increase of the awareness of the need of new know how, innovative solutions, necessary to cover the gaps created by previous approaches to global sustainable development.

The Matrix-Q SDG Label Services in combination with the The PTƟ SDG Hub Project are the tools the Matrix-Q Research Institute, Stichting Luis Daniel Maldonado Fonken, is utilizing for the purpose of collaborating with the generation of a sustainable global culture and civilization.
